NutriBalance ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the NutriBalance app ("App").
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed password.
Profile data: To calculate your calorie and macro targets, you provide age, sex, height, weight, activity level, and goal. This data is stored on our servers and used solely to personalise your nutrition plan.
Food & nutrition logs: Meals, portions, and micronutrient data you log are stored to provide your history, progress charts, and streak tracking.
Weight logs: Weight entries you record are stored to power your progress charts and auto-update your calorie goal.
Usage data: We collect anonymised crash reports and performance data via Sentry to identify and fix bugs.
Purchase data: Subscription status is managed via RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details — these are handled by Apple or Google.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalise the App (calorie targets, macro splits, progress charts, deficiency alerts)
- To manage your account and subscription
- To power gamification features (streaks, XP, leagues, achievements)
- To diagnose crashes and improve App performance
- To send optional push notifications about your daily streak (you can disable these in Settings)
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the App:
- Railway / Supabase (PostgreSQL) — backend hosting and database storage
- RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management
- Sentry — anonymised crash and error reporting
- Anthropic Claude API — AI-powered food label scanning and nutrition coaching (your food descriptions are sent to process your request and are not retained by Anthropic)
- Google AdMob — free-tier ad delivery (non-premium users only)
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and log data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes all your personal data from our servers within 30 days.
5. Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted to our backend servers.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies & Analytics
The App itself does not use browser cookies. Our website (officialnutribalance.app) may use basic analytics to understand traffic. No cross-site tracking is performed.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
