Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I built NutriBalance because I kept quitting every calorie tracker I tried.

Not because tracking is hard — it takes 30 seconds with a barcode scanner. But because there's zero reason to open a calorie tracker on a bad day. When you're tired and stressed and you ate badly, the last thing you want to do is open a boring spreadsheet.

So I built a calorie tracker that feels like a game.

Here's what NutriBalance does:

🎯 Full calorie + macro tracking — calories, protein, carbs, fat, fibre 📸 AI food label scanner — point your camera at ANY nutrition label, it reads and logs it instantly (works on foreign labels, restaurant menus, handwritten labels — not just barcodes) 🔍 Barcode scanner — packaged food logged in 5 seconds 📊 Android home screen widget — see today's calories, macros, and streak without opening the app 🎮 Streak system — don't break the chain; your streak is public on the leaderboard ⚡ Daily missions — 5-tier mission system with chest rewards and NutriCoins 🏆 Leagues — compete weekly in Bronze → Diamond leagues 👥 Friends leaderboard — add friends, track each other's streaks and XP 🤖 AI nutrition coach — ask nutrition questions in plain English 💧 Water + weight tracker — full progress tracking in one app

Everything above is bundled in one plan — nothing is upsold separately. 14-day free trial, then $12.99 AUD/month or $69.99 AUD/year.

Why I'm proud of it:

The AI label scanner was the hard one. I wanted something that worked on any label — UK nutrition panels, Australian formats, EU formats, even handwritten info from farmers markets. It works.

The gamification wasn't an afterthought — it's the whole point. NutriBalance has a full RPG progression system: XP, character levels, a coin economy, a shop, and league promotions/relegations every week. Logging food earns you things. Missing a day costs you something. That asymmetry is why people stay.

Who it's for:

  • People who've quit MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, or Lose It! before
  • Anyone doing IIFYM or flexible dieting
  • People who want social accountability baked into their tracker
  • Anyone who's ever said "I should track my food but I always forget"

Platform: Android & iOS  |  Price: $12.99 AUD/month or $69.99 AUD/year (14-day free trial)

FIRST COMMENT (to post immediately after launch)

Hey hunters!

A few things people ask about:

Q: Is there a free tier? No — it's a paid app ($12.99 AUD/month or $69.99 AUD/year), but there's a 14-day free trial so you can try the full experience — barcode scanner, AI scanner, gamification, widget, friends — before you're charged.

Q: What's the AI scanner actually like? Point your camera at a nutrition label, hold for 2 seconds, done. I've tested it on UK, US, AU, EU, Indian, and Japanese packaging. Works on all of them in good lighting. Game changer for logging foreign food or anything without a barcode.

Would love feedback from the PH community — what features matter most to you in a calorie tracker?
